The U.S. agencies that are leading the U.S. government's support for the
rebuilding of Iraq are the U.S.
Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department
of Defense, and the Department of
Commerce. In addition to contracting with the private sector to
manage projects that will help rebuild Iraq's infrastructure, the United
States has made numerous grants to international organizations and
agencies that are providing urgently needed relief to the people of
Iraq.
Several U.S. taxpayer-funded
contracts have been awarded or are in the process of being awarded by
U.S. government agencies. Jordanian companies interested in getting
involved in these efforts should contact directly the companies that
have been awarded these contracts. Links and contact information are
provided here and on the websites of the U.S. government agencies
overseeing these projects.
